Try giving more details on your situation: 1) have to move out when you turn 18, 2) parents expectations - or maybe no parents, 3) your interests.and so on.

Depends on ur situation & what u want to do with ur life. As a rule-of-thumb, I'd advise anyone to pursue higher education. Most high-paying jobs these days require a college education, & for real money, the higher the degree the better. You will also learn things about several different fields by taking different classes, & it can lead to new hobbies or a new career path u enjoy more. The downside is the cost, which is way too high, but with student loans, what u will make once u get out will outweigh the negatives there.

I've heard some horror stories about the military, about people being treated like dogs, etc. l also know some good people that have come out of the military. Personally, my best friend died in Iraq after months of training & wanting to fight in the war, only to go over & sit on camp for months, not doing anything productive, & he was hit & killed by a mortar attack from miles away..since then l have not advised anyone to go into the military.

Work sucks..you've got ur whole life ahead of u for work, enjoy ur youth while u can, cause it does not last long..go to school or military, make new friendships, learn new things..work later. Once you're in the day-day working world, time flies, & every day becomes routine rather than being exciting & fun. Put off work as long as u can! Go to school, learn to do what u want to do well, THEN work, in a field u love & make good money!
