You should be able to get a savings account with your name only on it at the age of 17, but to have a checking account they would most likely need your father joint on the account and that means his name would be on the account as well. If you do not need a checking account, just do a savings account for now and when you turn 18 you could try to open one yourself.

their name only. A parent or guardian must also sign a ''responsibility
form''. A savings account is a different thing. The question is who do you trust?
