No, absolutely not. It is your money that you earned yourself. Your parents can decide if you can buy something or not. But they can not make you buy something.

Absolutely!! l applaud your parents for trying to teach you the value of a dollar. It is a shame all parents do not make the kids use their own money for all those expensive 'toys'.

This way you will appreciate what you do get. You will learn the difference between want and need. You will have to learn about saving up to buy things and learn to live without a lot of expensive junk. These are all lessons that will serve you well when you are an adult.

Of course it is right for them to do so. You need to learn responsibility with money, everyone has to learn at some point. You will learn to value what u pay for with ur own money, u will learn the value of the dollar & how hard a person has to work just to earn one. It is the best thing a parent could do for a kid.

My parents did it for me & now l am the one all my friends come to for advice as they can not manage their money still to this day. They r always having troubles because no one taught them the value of a dollar.

Congrats to ur parents for loving u enough to teach u this very valuable lesson! l did it with my son as well, he learned so well that he is doing great financially & he is only 21!!

l am sure they buy you everything you need. If you want more, it is your right and obligation to pay for it yourself.

Yes, your parents are doing you a good service. They are actually PARENTING! They are teaching you a good lesson about the value of a dollar. It is a lot easier to spend someone elses money. You should feel lucky that you have good parents.

Yes it is most definitely right!

When l was younger and started making money at summer jobs, l was responsible for buying things like school supplies. The older l got and the more money that l made, the more things that l was responsible for, such as clothes, makeup, etc.

It is teaching you responsiblity and l bet will make you think twice before spending on something you do not really need.

Only if they want to be good parents who teach their children how to be good adults.

Yes.why should not that be right? It is a parents job to buy what a child NEEDS..not what a child WANTS. My 10 year old even uses her own money to buy things she wants.

No! AS long as they do not spend everything! But like it is okay if they show you once or twice that ther eis stuff you need and stuff you want! But if you got $200 and they make you spend it all, like Lynrd Skynrd would say BOO! BOO! BOO!

They are right.

The key word is YOU WANT.
