well my hubby is thinking about fileing for bankruptcy for alot of reasons.. but anyways... we live in illinois.. how do we go about it.. and how much will it cost and have any of you been threw it??

Bankruptcy is a Federal court procedure. An attorney will give you a free 15 or 30 minute consultation to determine if you qualify, and inform you of the costs.

state has nothing to do with it -- federal law and rules -- court cost will run about 300 dollars and the lawyer will be from 1300 to 2000 -- before you do anything most lawyers will give you a free set to go over your case!!!
