My partner does not have a bank account and l need to deposit a cheque that has been made payable to him. Was wondering if he produces ID at the bank, would they allow us to deposit the cheque into my account

If he is got ID though, he can open his own basic bank account
otherwise use a cheque-cashing shop

No. The account would have to be in your partner is name, or joint with you. These days you cannot endorse a cheque in someone else is favour either.

No, they will not accept a third party check. Many years ago they did accept those checks but due to abuse by a bunch of deadbeat people out there they stopped the practice.
