So, for general purposes, should a person that makes 35k a year be considered a low or medium earner? Is that the same as being low or medium income?
thanks

It really depends on where you live and the cost of living in your area to be able to tell if that is low or medium income.

I'd say it is at the high end of low. I've been out of college for 3 years and l make just a little bit more than that (37.5K). l definitely do not feel ''middle.''

Depends on where you live. Up here in New England, I'd have to say that is definitely on the low side.

Well, at 40 hours per week, that rounds out to about $17.50 an hour. I'd say that is more than a lot of people make.

Whether you call it high end of low, or low end of medium.

In any event, if you can not survive on that, you're not trying.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Household_income_in_the_United_States

In 2007, the median annual household income rose 1.3% to $50,233.00 according to the Census Bureau

The real median earnings of men who worked full time, year-round climbed between 2006 & 2007, from $43,460 to $45,113.

For women, the corresponding increase was from $33,437 to $35,102.

Households in the top quintile, 77% of which had two or more income earners, had incomes exceeding $91,705. Households in the mid quintile, with a mean of approximately one income earner per household had incomes between $36,000 & $57,657. Households in the lowest quintile had incomes less than $19,178 & the majority had no income earner.

it would appear you're in the middle.
to some degree, it depends on where u live, & ur education.

It depends what the cost of living is in your area. In my area..that would be low income

Depends on where you live and the cost of housing around you. Thats low for New York city but ok for the midwest.

It is great if you are just out of college and/or starting first job(here in the Midwest anyway)
